WHAT IS SEPP No.5?
My family name is well known in Australian wine but I prefer to chart my own course. At school and on the football field my nickname was always Sepp.
As a nod to my family's history the number 5 acknowledges the five generations of Seppelts who have made wine in the Barossa before me.
Tristan grew up amongst the vines, barrels and animals of the family farm, Grand Cru Estate.
His family started winemaking in the Barossa Valley in 1851, making Tristan a 6th generation Barossa Seppelt.
For as long as he can remember Tristan has been working in the vineyards, helping top barrels and hand labelling wine bottles. The wine industry is in his blood.
GRAND CRU ESTATE
Our 1880's homestead, winery and vineyards and is called 'Grand Cru Estate.'
It's a small settlement of stone houses around a main courtyard and like the name, is very European in style.
Today this stunning location is not just the home of our cellar door and vineyards, it is also has luxury accommodation and hosts exclusive functions.
